How many gallons is my pool?
Gallons = cubic feet × 7.4805, because one US gallon is 231 cubic inches. Cubic feet = surface area × average depth.
How many gallons is my pool?
Gallons = cubic feet × 7.4805, because one US gallon is 231 cubic inches. Cubic feet = surface area × average depth.
Surface area = 3.1416 × (diameter ÷ 2)². Multiply by average depth for cubic feet, then by 7.4805 for gallons.
Average depth = (shallow end + deep end) ÷ 2. This fits an even slope. A pool with a steep drop or a big deep hopper holds a different amount than the average shows.
Gallons per inch = surface area in square feet ÷ 12 × 7.4805. It helps when you top off or drain a few inches.
Minutes = gallons ÷ your flow in gallons per minute. Time a bucket of known size at your hose to get the real flow.
